Jr. Buffaloes trample Tracy Bucs with run game

Brody Carabello and Leiland Riggelman scored three touchdowns apiece and combined for nearly 400 total yards for the Manteca Jr. Buffaloes varsity in a 40-6 Central Valley Youth Football and Cheer win over the Tracy Buccaneers on Saturday.

Carabello (14 carries, 232 yards; 33 yards passing) scored on runs of 26, 28 and 43 yards. Riggelman added touchdown runs of 10, 11 and 58 yards. Josiah Moreno added five carries for 30 yards and three receptions for 33 yards.

Jonathan Arnoldus led the Manteca defense with six tackles while Brixton Ortiz (forced fumble), Josiah Moreno (interception) and Carabello made five stops apiece. Adriel Cooks (three pass breakups) and Logan Qualls made three stops each.

 

Manteca Cowboys 31, Ceres Jr. Bulldogs 0

Darien East carried the ball four times for the Cowboys and scored twice.

East (four carries, 117 yards) scored on runs of 32 and 74 yards. Kionte Wakefield added a 20-yard scoring run and Nehemiah Tomanogi threw a touchdown pass too Logan Yagi.

East made seven tackles with three each for Maleriq de la Rosa (fumble recovery), Adam Spino and Adrian Sena.

 

Junior varsity

Cowboys 13, Jr. Bulldogs 6

The Cowboys scored one touchdown on offense and one on defense.

Brady Davis got the first Manteca score on an interception return and Terrance Montgomery tallied the other touchdown on a 12-yard run. Erian Johnson Jr. and Jonathan Morales contributed to the Cowboys offense.

Johnson Jr. and Bryant Lewis led the Manteca defense with six tackles apiece. Montgomery and Jonathan Morales added five stops each, Devin Cortinas (fumble recovery) four, Mateo Salcido three with two each for Luis Vega, Elijah Abadan and Nicolas Rangel. Angelo Cervantes and Akai Henderson contributed to the Cowboys defense.

 

Rookies

Jr. Buffaloes 26, Buccaneers 0
Manteca’s Quinnie Dunbar and DeShon Benton Jr. scored two touchdowns apiece.
Dunbar (nine carries, 92 yards) opened the game with a 42-yard touchdown run and he added a  31-yard touchdown run. Benton Jr. (100 yards receiving) pulled in touchdown passes of 15 yards from A.J. Haines and 85 yards from Trenton Fitzhugh. Dennis Johnson contributed on offense.  

Dunbar made eight tackles, Benton Jr. and Jake Husband seven each, Johnson six, Fitzhugh five and Remington Catalano two.

 

Cowboys 25 Jr. Bulldogs 13
Manteca’s Stevens Charvell and Max Rios combined for three touchdowns and more than 250 yards.

Charvell (eight carries, 155 yards) scored two touchdowns with Rios (four carries, 101 yards) and A.J. Aguirre scoring one touchdown each. Mateo Gavino and German Patron contributed to the Cowboys offense.

Angelo Martinez led the Manteca defense with six tackles. Charvell and Rios added five stops and Gavino four.
