Junior Buffaloes drop close contest to Junior Bulldogs

 The Manteca Jr. Buffaloes varsity lost a close Cen-Cal game to the Turlock Jr. Bulldogs 29-20 at Guss Schmiedt Field on Saturday.
Francisco Ramirez scored on a 60-yard run for Manteca and Nicolas Schatmeier had a 20-yard scoring run. Dallas Kaleimamahu connected with Daymari Cox for a 20-yard touchdown pass and Daymari Cox rushed for 78 yards.
Joshua Martinez had three tackles for the Jr. Buffaloes,  Nayely Casillas had a big sack and Cox, Nicolas Schatmeier, Dylan DePrater and Jesse Lopez all played well defensively for Manteca.

Turlock Pride 30,
 Manteca Jaguars 14
Joel Yuson stood out on both sides of the ball for the Jaguars.
Yuson had a 55-yard touchdown run and gained 170 yards on 14 carries while making nine tackles and an interception. Rovin Soriano (11 carries, 44 yards) scored on an 11-yard run and Zane Salgado added 29 yards on six carries.
Dylan Zimmermann and Derrik McGee made seven tackles each for the Jaguars. Gabriel Vargas and Rheanne Ferrer added six stops each and Zane Zalgado (fumble recovery) and Benjamin Wheeler both made five tackles.

Junior varsity
Turlock Jr. Bulldogs 52, Manteca Jr. Buffaloes 6
The Jr. Buffaloes roster was up to 16 players from 12 the previous week but they were not able to keep up with th Jr. Bulldogs.
Manteca’s Larell Fountain ran for more than 100 yards and scored in the fourth period on a 60-yard run.
Colton Stonum made six tackles for the Jr. Buffaloes with Chase Lipsette, Jaydon Wall and Cassius Hill playing well on both sides of the ball.

Peewees
Turlock Jr. Bulldogs 8, Manteca Jr. Buffaloes 6
Gage Pfeifer made a 50-yard touchdown run for the Jr. Buffaloes and gained 105 yards on the ground.
Raymond Tinnin led the Manteca defense with six tackles while Josh Husband, Angel Espinoza and Julio Martinez each made three stops.

Rookies
Manteca Jr. Buffaloes, Turlock Jr. Bulldogs (No score kept at this level)
Andrew Salmeron scored two touchdowns for the Jr. Buffaloes.
Salmeron led Manteca with 111 yards on the ground. Brody Carabello (touchdown) added 58 rushing yards and Madden Melendez had 44 yards rushing.
Salmeron and Melendez had five stops apiece while Alex Espinoza, Devon Fielder and Cage Woodall each made two stops.
