JV Cowboys pound Eagles, improve to 9-0

The Manteca Cowboys’ junior varsity squad had little reason to air it out against the North Stockton Eagles Saturday at Manteca High.

Seuseu Alofaituli and Marcus Panela accounted for over 350 rushing yards, and Manteca improved to 9-0 in the NorCal All-American Youth Football League with a 24-12 homecoming victory.

Panela grinded out 199 yards and two touchdowns, and Aolofaituli added 155 and one score. Angel Sena chipped in one touchdown.

Gabriel Francisco highlighted the defense with an interception and a sack. Alofaituli led the way with seven tackles, and Sena contributed three to go with a sack.

The varsity Cowboys won via forfeiture and is now 7-2. The regular season ends against the Weston Ranch Ravens back at Manteca High Saturday.



Rookies

Cowboys 12, Eagles 6


Presley DeMello helped Manteca (8-1) overcome penalties with stellar play on both ends of scrimmage. He scored both touchdowns for the team, one of which was set up by a 75-yard return on a fumble.

DeMello also turned in eight tackles to pace the defense, which got six more stops from Matthew Pilkay along with two sacks and a fumble recovery.

Melvon McCoy collected five tackles and two sacks. Tony Rosillo and Carlos Gonzales added one sack apiece, and Seth Owings picked off a pass.



Starters

Cowboys 41, Eagles 0


Stanley Kimoni spearheaded the rout with 140 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Joelle Urtega (74 rushing yards), Joshua Grabowski and Adam Sena each scored a TD, and Bryant Davis III returned another off an interception from 35 yards out.

Nicco Cedolini piled up seven total tackles and a sack for the defense. Sena recorded two sacks, and Derek Alicea Jr. added one of his own.
