Kingsmen hold off Ripon Knights

The Modesto Christian Kingsmen junior varsity downed the Ripon Knights 14-6 in Trans-Valley Youth Football League action.

After being held scoreless in the first half, Nolan Lingley got the Knights on the board in the second half with a 95-yard touchdown run. Ripon also had strong running by Sean McGovern, Jesse Sappien, Richie Garcia Jr., and Jaden Booth with nice receptions by Wyatt Van Vliet, Luke Weaver and Wyatt Nicholsen.  The offensive line was led by Erik Weststyen, Jason Vander Weide and Joel Hiemstra.  

Ripon’s defense was led by Casey Cotton, Armando Torres, Bryan Garrett, Jeramiah Willey, Tyler Mensonides, Chase Howard, Mathias Ruther, Van Vliet, Grabowski, McGovern, Sappien, Booth, Drake Nelson, Weaver and Nolan Lingley.

 

Novice

Kingsmen 40, Knights 0

Michael Oneil and Mitch Lill played well on defense for the Knights.

Evan Jeffery and Jace Beidleman each completed several passes to Lill.

 

Jr. Novice

Hunter Steele scored two touchdowns for the Knights with Zachary Grabowski, Preston Zuidervaart, and Gage Stiern each scoring one.

Defensively, Stiern, Carson Sanders, Steele, Zuidervaart, Zac Walmer, Anden Ries, Sammy Romero, and Anthony Richardson, Zachary Grabowski and Ignacio Acuna played well for Ripon.
