Ripon teams claims big Trans Valley varsity win

Blake Nichelson ran wild for the Ripon Knights varsity Saturday in a 60-22 Tran-Valley Youth Football League win over the Big Valley Sabres at Ripon Christian High School.

Nichelson ran for 223 yards and scored three rushing touchdowns along with 78 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown. Trey Fasani ran for 85 yards and scored one rushing touchdown while throwing two others, one for 37 yards to Thys Vanderhoek and another for 60 yards to Nichelson. Jacob Cormier scored two rushing touchdowns and Derek Vanelderen added 12 points with six conversion kicks.

 Nichelson totaled eight tackles with Cormier and Cote Windorski tallying six stops each.

 

Junior Varsity

Knights 48, Sabres 0

Anden Ries led a balanced attack for the Knights.

 Ries had 98 yards rushing with touchdown runs of 13 an 49 yards and a 19-yard scoring reception from Jace Beidleman. Carson Sanders had 77 yards rushing with a 37-yard scoring run, 

Roman Guzman picked up 30 yards rushing with a 2-yard scoring plunge and Cade Gemmell had a 14-yard touchdown run. Preston Zuidervaart hit Jameson Clark with a 3-yard touchdown pass. Chase Bogetti was 3 for 6 on two-point conversion kicks.

Sanders led the defense with four tackles with Cade Gemmell (forced fumble), Chase Bogetti, Brody Nail and Jacob Camper getting three stops apiece; Ries (two fumble recoveries), Andrew Mensonidis, Calvin Ryans, Brandon Kuhnke and Roman Guzman had two tackles each and Jackson Baber made an interception. 

 

Novice

Knights 24, Sabres 13

 Landon Corcoran had two touchdowns for the Knights. 

 Corcoran tallied 63 yards on 12 carries with a rushing touchdown and one reception for an 11-yard touchdown. Jack Peters added 31 yards on four 39 yards on two receptions and Dax Beidlman had six carries for 21 yards and a 70-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

 Mason Durao led the Ripon defense with seven tackles. Jax Booth added five tackles and a safety, Chase Bunnell, Jack Peters, Landon Corcoran tallied four tackles apiece while Dylan Parker and Darren Van Groningen each had two tackles.

Ripon Chiefs 39,

Escalon Outlaws 8

 Kaden MacDannald scored three touchdowns for the Chiefs and Seth Van Dyk added two. 

 MacDannald (three carries, 44 yards) ran in scores from 5 and 25 yards out and had a 10-yard scoring pass from Garrison Reis (2 for 3 passing, 37 yards). Van Dyk (five carries, 24 yards) had 1- and 10-yard scoring runs and Tyler Paul Wentworth (three carries, 23 yards; one reception, 27 yards) scored on a 6-yard run.

 Reis made nine tackles with two fumble recoveries. Van Dyk (forced fumble) and 

Fernando Alaniz made seven tackles apiece, Xzavier Clark six, MacDannald (tipped pass), 

Jesus Ochoa and Wentworth had five stops apiece, Quinn Martinez four, Eli Buck and Rylan McDonald three and Caanan Clark two.

 

CenCal Junior Varsity

Modesto Broncos 26,

Manteca Raiders 12

 Damien Rease ran for one touchdown and threw for another for the Raiders.

 Rease (5 of 8 passing, 48 yards; 53 yards rushing) had a 50-yard touchdown run and a 45-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Grady. Fernando Villalvazo had nine carries for 46 yards.

 Samuel Avila was all over the field for the Manteca defense with 25 tackles. Jacob Paris added 17 stops, Anthony Grady had eight and Matthew Escarcega five.

 

PeeWee

Broncos 31, Raiders 0

 Dean Sortonis 10 tackles for the Raiders.

 A.J. Cortez added four stops and Colton-Jay Silva three. Zackary Smith, Aeryk Snyder, Jacob Ramirez, David Paras, Jose Rivera, Jovani Avalos also contributed on defense.

 Marshal Singleton and Issac Covarrubias led the Raiders offense.

 

Rookies

Raiders, Broncos

 DeAndre Patterson raced for 215 yards with three touchdowns along with two tackles for the Raiders.

Ivan Garay (touchdown) added 90 yards rushing and Valentino Dominguez (touchdown) had 56 yards rushing and four tackles. Elijah Arreola and Ayden Brush had four tackles each and Kristian Miranda three.
