MINORS

Manteca 6, Tracy 5

It was not pretty, but it still counted.

Battling back from a three-run deficit, Manteca went into the bottom of the sixth with the game tied. Brian Geer singled, bringing Aiden Freitas to the plate. Freitas hit a routine grounder to third, but the throw to first sailed off the mark, allowing Geer to scoot all the way home for the walk-off win.

Aiden Freitas pitched the last four innings, holding Tracy scores with eight strikeouts including striking out the side in the sixth with the third out of that frame coming with the bases loaded.

Dominick Kotta and Victor Nuno each had two RBI with key hits by Lucas Scalise and Brach Carabello.

Manteca advances to the championship round Friday night at 7.
