Manteca FC U10 girls take successful summer into fall

Manteca Futbol Club’s under-10 girls soccer team is off to a hot start in the NorCal Premier Region7/8 Fall League season after an impressive end to its summer.

Benfica opened fall-league action with wins over the Milan Strikers (5-2), Ajax United Premier (4-0) and Clovis SC White (7-0).

Before that, Benfica captured the Soccer by the Bay tournament championship. They blew out the Burlingame Falcons (8-2), Palo Alto Academy (4-0) and MVLA Avalanche (3-0), with their only test coming from Union City Premier (1-0).

The Manteca FC squad also took second in the Inter-Rage Summer Fest, losing to tourney host Inter Rage 3-1 in the finale. Benfica cruised to victories over Milan Strikers, NBEFC Galaxy and Heritage Bolt by a combined score of 14-0.

Handling the scoring load for the team is Kassandra Ceja, who has 33 goals. Goalkeeper Wendy Bucio and defenders Keylee Armstrong, Stella Breirly and Johanna Torrez have been key on the other end of the pitch.
