Moore drives in all three runs to knock off SPLL

Nate Moore had a big day for the Manteca Giants on Wednesday, knocking in all of his team’s runs in a 3-2 quarterfinal win over the Spreckels Park Brewers in the District 67 Major Tournament of Champions at Lincoln Park.
Moore singled in Maddox Melendez (2 for 3, two runs) in the first inning, and in the third he laced a two-RBI single that plated Melendez and Eddie Anthony and made the score 3-2. Jesse Bella went 2 for 3 for Manteca while Anthony and Julian Oliveri each had a hit. 
Chris Chavez came in to pitch in the second inning for the Giants and shut the door on the Brewers striking out 13 batters.
Jackson Fay started the game off for the Brewers with a double and came around to score on a pair of passed balls. Richie Cervates followed Fay with a walk and came home on a single by Jacob Morrow (2 for 3, RBI, double) to make the score 2-1. Cameron Diego and Carter Thorton each added a single for Spreckels Park.
The Brewers face Tracy National in a consolation contest tonight at 6 and tomorrow at 6 p.m. Manteca faces the Northgate Giants in the quarterfinal. 
 
Northgate13, Salida 2 (5)
The Northgate Giants exploded for seven runs while sending 12 batters to the plate in the top of the fifth.
In that big fifth inning, Rudy Gutierrez doubled in Isaiah Yanez, Brady Alves (1 for 2, RBI, two runs) singled in Shane Lewis, Aiden Weber (1 for 1, RBI, run) had a sacrifice fly to score Gutierrez and Adan Rosas tripled in Alves.
Collins Schluer (1 for 1, three RBI, two runs, walk) singled home Rosas, Alijah Scott walked, and Yanez (3 for 4, three RBI, triple, run) hitting for a second time in the inning tripled home Schluer and Scott. 
The Giants hit a triple in four of the five innings. Tyler Watkins (2 for 4, triple, two runs) started the game with a triple off of the fence and scored on a sacrifice fly by Schluer. In the third inning Alijah Scott (2 for 3, two RBI, triple, two runs, walk) tripled off of the fence to score Watkins and Schluer.
Yanez was masterful in relief. He entered the game with the bases loaded in the first inning, got out of the jam and did not give up a run while pitching into the fifth, striking out 10.
Northgate advances to play the Manteca Giants Friday night at 6 in the semifinal. 
 
Minors
Manteca 4, Tracy American 2

The Manteca White Sox took advantage of two hits, three walks, two stolen bases and two fielder’s choices to score two runs in the first and the fourth innings at Brock Elliott School.
Brixton Menchaca-Ortiz plated two RBI for Manteca on a pair of fielder’s choices. Madden Melendez (RBI) tripled, walked and scored two runs. Jacoby Salinas and Brody Carabello each drew walks and had stolen bases, scoring runs. Mateo Munoz was 1 for 2.
Menchaca-Ortiz struck out 11 for the White Sox, throwing 4.1 innings with one hit and one earned run. Carabello threw 1.2 innings of no-hit ball, striking out three of the last five to close it out.
Manteca faces Lathrop in the semifinal on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
