SALIDA — Connor Paris helped give the Ripon Mets the lead with his bat, then held off the Manteca White Sox with his arm in the District 67 Little League Tournament of Champions final on Monday.
He preserved a fragile lead in the sixth inning, striking out the final batter as Ripon won 17-16 for its first district pennant in the major division.
At the plate, Paris went 3-for-3 with a homer, a triple and four RBIs.
Bo Brayton contributed three runs, while Max Devereaux and George Jordanoglou chipped in two hits apiece.
Holden Peelman was the Mets’ starting pitcher, striking out five over 3 1/3 innings.
Ripon rolled to the title round with a lopsided 12-1 victory over Weston Ranch in four innings on Saturday.
Ripon will host the District 67 12-under All-Star Tournament beginning on Friday. Ripon has a first-round bye and plays the Patterson-Salida winner on Saturday starting at 9.
