The Manteca Futbol Club’s 17-under girls Dynasty club put together a perfect 4-0 tournament run in the 2011 Sacramento United Suntan Classic in Sacramento over the weekend, bringing home the championship.

The club opened the tournament with a convincing 3-0 win against the EGAFC Heat and followed up that victory with a 2-1 win over the CAP FC United team. A 2-0 victory over the FC Elk Grove placed the Dynasty in the title game where the club did not disappoint.

The Dynasty met up with the Sacramento United Extreme and held on for a 2-1 win. The Dynasty outscored their opponents 9-2 over their championship run.

The United Extreme came out of bracket “A” as the top-team, finishing the four-team bracket without a loss and 24 bracket points. The Dynasty were also tops in the “B” bracket, surrendering just a single goal while piling up three wins.

The Dynasty has put together a solid summer circuit, earning their second tournament title with the Suntan Classic win. The group also brought home the Independence Cup title from Sacramento in July.

The Dynasty is already committed to the Magic Cup tournament in Morgan Hill the final weekend of August.

“The Magic Cup is a very, very elite tournament and there is going to be a lot of quality teams competing in this tournament,” Dynasty head coach Araia Berhane said. “This is going to be a stepping stone for the girls to measure how much they have evolved throughout the summer.

“We are really going to push these girls to their limits and see how well they react.”

The Dynasty program is still seeking players to complete their roster, so any players 15-under to 18-under who are interested, contact coach Berhane by email at araiaberhane@gmail.com.
