Northgate Pirates claim 4th straight victory

The Northgate Little League junior Pirates won four in a row with a 6-5 squeaker over the Giants.

Gary Alexander and Marcus Sequeira shared pitching duties for the Pirates while Brandon Emends and Dominic Valentine had stellar moments on defense.  Tyres Harper, Ray Navarro and Tyler Rigglemen each had a good day at the plate for the Pirates..  

 

Pirates 12, Angels 2

Harper was 4 for 4 with a double, four RBI and was five feet short of a home run for the Pirates. 

Pirates pitcher Fernando Segura tallied 15 strikeouts to and allowed just three hits in picking up the complete-game victory while notching three hits himself.

Austin Scott and Daniel Ault each had hits for the Angels.

 

Majors

Giants 3, Astros 2

Ryan Borgeson, Nick Dutra and Victor Alonzo combined to no-hit the Astros.  

Preston Darter had two big hits for the Giants and Nick Dutra knocked in the winning run for the Giants.

 

AAA

Tigers 11, Indians 0

Caanen Showers stole five bases for the Tigers.

Tony Pretoni allowed just two hits while striking out nine in picking up the four-inning complete-game shutout. Sammy Lourenco, Michael Quaresma and Moises Gonzalez had big hits for the Tigers.

 

Diamondbacks 17, Giants 6

Diego Gonzalez knocked in six runs for the Diamondbacks.

Blake Mounts (two RBI) of the Diamondbacks celebrated his eighth birthday by going 2 for 3. Sage Bordenrave had a two-run inside-the-park home run while Myreza Harper (3 for 3) had three RBI and Michael Sellers (2 for 2) two RBI for the Diamondbacks.
