Quinones strikes twice for U-14 Fury

Isabel Quinones blasted in the go-ahead and insurance goals in the under-14 Fury girls’ 3-1 win over Arsenal in Manteca Area Soccer League action Saturday at Woodward Park.

Destiny Hernandez opened scoring for Fury and added an assist. Megan Harlan contributed two assists.

Kareena Escartin collected three saves and was backed by defenders Georgia Arriola, Haylee Chance, Jennifer Ibarra-Bejar and Katy Carter.

Under-12 boys

Revolution 3, Chivas 0


Aron Navarrete, Jordy Ramirez-Aguilar and Marcus Camden each netted a goal in Revolution’s one-sided victory. Kyle Dorland and Charlie Wichert each pitched in an assist.

Justin Rother, Logan Wilson and Mason James keyed the shutout on the back line, with Kavin Carrillo-Mejia, Shaun Sellner, Felipe Mata-Diaz and Joseph Smoley helping the squad keep the ball on the opponent’s end of the pitch.

Navarrette and James each played a half between the posts.



Under-10 boys

Eagles 2, Real Madrid 2


Matthew Dunham had several attempts on goal and finally made good late in the second half to help the Eagles salvage a hard-fought draw.

Jesse Ortiz-Martinez scored the first goal for the Eagles.

Michael Arriola fended off a relentless attack from Real Madrid, finishing with six saves in the first half. Nolen Gavino recorded a pair of saves in the second half. The goalies were protected well by the Ramon Rodriguez.



Inferno 7, Fireballs 1

Riccardo Nieblas had a hat trick along with two assists in Inferno’s landslide victory. Also scoring were Alexis Rodriguez (two), Aaron Sandberg and Joey Aguirre.

Brandon Navarrette and Austin Frisk held it down defensively.



Under-8 boys

Hawks 4, Wizards 0

The Hawks did all of their damage in the first half, with two goals coming from Jahir Manguia and one apiece from Seth Villanueva and Luke Samson.

Zavier Sadorra and Daylon Thomas each finished with an assist.

Benjamin Epperley and Manguia combined for the shutout at goal. William Bergen, Armanpreet Sekhon and Thomas were stout on the defensive end, while Robert Perrin and Jeffery Baca helped control the midfield.



Mustangs 2, Cobras 1


Tyler Nansel scored one of the goals for the Mustangs, who were aided by four key saves by goalkeeper Alex Gatty. Defenders Damian Gonzalez and Malachi Henry were other standouts.
