STOCKTON (AP) — Tyler Ramirez hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning, leading the Stockton Ports to an 8-7 win over the Inland Empire 66ers on Thursday.
The home run by Ramirez, part of a three-run inning, gave the Ports a 7-6 lead before Chris Iriart hit a solo home run later in the inning.
In the top of the ninth, Inland Empire cut into the lead on a solo home run by Brendon Sanger.
Carlos Navas (3-0) got the win in relief while Jeremy Rhoades (3-3) took the loss in the California League game.
For the 66ers, Sanger homered and singled, scoring a couple of runs while also driving home two. Matt Thaiss homered and singled, driving in two runs.
