Ripon Knights, Chiefs varsity win league openers

LE GRAND — Anden Ries led the Ripon Knights varsity to a 12-6 Trans-Valley Youth Football League over the host Tri-City Bulldogs.
Ries tallied 84 rushing yards with a 9-yard rushing touchdown along with 45 receiving yards and made seven tackles along with a fumble recovery. Jace Beidleman totaled 109 yards passing with a 6-yard touchdown throw to Brady Grondz (28 receiving yards) and Carson Sanders had 42 total yards.
Sanders (fumble recovery) made five tackles with Rey Galindo (interception) and Chase Bogetti adding four tackles apiece, Brady Grondz (forced fumble) and Cade Gemmell had three stops each and Jacob Camper made two tackles.
Alijah Marshall had 50 return for the Knights.

Ripon Chiefs 38, Amador Jr. Buffaloes 0
Kaden MacDannald and Xzavier Clark combined for three touchdowns and nearly 200 yards for the varsity Chiefs, while Garrison Reis ran for two more scores in Motherlode Valley League action.
Clark (seven carries, 90 yards) scored on runs of 28 and 14 yards, Reis (6 of 9 passing, 99 yards, interception) had touchdown runs of 8 and 10 yards and MacDannald (13 carries, 106 yards) added a 1-yard touchdown plunge.
Frank Teicheira IV, Andrew Felt, Logan House, Jesus Ochoa, and Eli Buck all contributed on offense.
MacDannald tallied eight stops, Rylan McDonald (fumble recovery) five, Ochoa and Reis four apiece and Canaan Clark, Marcus Atienza and Teicheira IV three each.
Felt (interception), Clark, Buck, Ty Herrin and Skylar Ortiz all chipped in on defense.
Amador won the JV game 29-0, and the novice game, 33-0.

Knights 34, Bulldogs 18

Hunter Steele ran wild for Ripon.
Steele racked up 206 yards on just eight carries with four touchdowns while the Knights ran for 302 team yards. Nate Cedolini ran for 57 yards and connected with Jackson Howell on an 8-yard scoring strike. Aaron Van Hofwegen was 2 for 5 on conversion kicks.
Eddie Ramirez led the Ripon defense with seven tackles followed by Matthew Chapman and Steele with five apiece and Mario Garcia, Chase Bunnell, and Brady Rossi with four each.
Novice stats
Knights 34, Bulldogs 0

Gavin Decena raced for two Ripon touchdowns.
Decena led the Knights ground attack with 100 yards on seven carries. Kaeo Sanchez (four carries,  24yards), Landon Corcoran (two carries, 15yards) and Anthony Alves each scored a touchdown. Keegan Kosaka, Mason Durao, Jax Booth and Dylan Parker all contributed on offense.
Jax Booth posted five tackles for Ripon. David Rowe added four tackles, Landon Corcoran three with Kaeo Sanchez, Mason Durao, Nate New, Alex Rader, Dylan Parker, Van Hendrix and Luke McKiernan all chipping in on defense.
