Spreckels Park’s 15-16-year-old all-stars made history this week by capturing the District 67 Senior League Tournament banner.

They are Spreckels Park Little League’s first-ever club to earn an all-star championship after sweeping Tracy in a best-of-three series.

First was Tuesday’s 13-6 victory anchored by Tanner Peterson, who allowed just three earned runs and struck out five in five innings pitched.

On Wednesday, Spreckels Park never trailed en route to a 6-5 win. Nick Oseguera belted an RBI double, and Kody Justis stroked a two-run single to give the Manteca squad a 3-0 lead after one. It was 5-0 going into the third, but Tracy made it interesting from there.

Steven Rios’ RBI single in the bottom of the fourth proved to be a much-needed insurance run, as Tracy closed to within one in the sixth.

Winning pitcher Justin Killian yielded two runs in his four innings. Oseguera closed it out for the save.

Spreckels Park advances to the Section 3 Tournament hosted by Redwood City Little League July 13-17.
