Gino Campiotti tossed two touchdowns but the Manteca Junior Buffaloes couldn’t match scores with the Oakdale Stampede in a 36-14 loss.

Campiotti had scoring strikes of 10 and 58 yards as the varsity Buffaloes had their season-long six-game winning streak snapped.

The victory completed the program sweep for the Stampede.

Ferrin Manuleleua had nine carries for 68 yards and was on the receiving end of Campiotti’s 10-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. Manuleleua also led the team with nine tackles.

Matthew Ender tallied the Buffaloes’ other score in the second quarter.

Campiotti completed five passes, including a 19-yard toss to Presley Keltner and a 12-yard pitch to Jacob Peterson. He also had three carries for 10 yards.

Peterson finished with eight tackles, while Justin Kakala and Caden Ramsey had five apiece. Kyle Reis and Seth Owings each had four tackles for Manteca (6-1).

Jimmy Mootz scored two touchdowns and Jacob DeJesus also found his way into the end zone for the Junior Buffaloes, who lost for the fifth times this season.

The Stampede won 34-18, dropping Manteca to 2-5.

Mootz did most of his work through the air, turning a pitch-and-catch from Tyler Garlets into a 71-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. He’d find paydirt again in the fourth, this time running under a pass from Trinidad Diaz.

DeJesus was the workhorse out of the backfield for Manteca, carrying the ball 16 times. He took one of those to the house, rumbling 42 yards for a second-quarter score. DeJesus also had 23-yard punt return in the second quarter, a fumble recovery in the third quarter and five tackles on defense.

Mootz had a team-high 10 tackles. Warren McGovern finished with seven tackles, while Eric Nascimento, Alfredo Oseguera and Garlets had three apiece.
