The Manteca Jr. Timberwolves varsity defeated the Hayward Monarchs 20-7 in Delta Youth Football action.

Josiah Medina and Michael Sucher scored rushing touchdowns for the Jr. Timberwolves and Sucher hit Tarnjot Singh with a touchdown pass.

 

Novice

Jr. Timberwolves 38, Monarchs 0

Alijah Cota ran for two touchdowns and Luke Abrew ran for one score and threw for another to lead the Manteca Jr. Timberwolves.

Cota (50 yards rushing) scored on a 20-yard run and had a 26-yard run to set up 1-yard line scoring plunge. Abrew ran in a score from 2 yards out and hit Mikey Garcia for a with a 50-yard touchdown pass. Garcia (100 yards rushing) had runs of 37 and 16 yards to set up a 1-yard Tommy Perea touchdown run and Coco Murillo (80 yards rushing) scored on a 50-yard run.

Garcia and Isaiah Sanchez each had seven tackles.

 

Junior Novice

Jr. Timberwolves 26, Monarchs 0

The Jr. Timberwolves picked up their irst win of season with a defensive effort that allowed only 44 yards and recovered two fumbles.

Moses Segura Jr., Richard Torrez and Anthony Gollihar each had six tackles for Manteca. Frank Teicheia, Julian Moncado, Luis Rivera, and Winston Snyder each had five stops and Jocob Codde (fumble recovery) three.

Luis River led the Jr. Timberwolves with 12 carries for 186 yards and two touchdowns. Moses Segura Jr. added 36 yards on seven carries and Zavier Sadorra added a touchdown run.

 

Modesto Cowboys 38, Manteca Chargers 25

With time running out Omar Diaz raced 60 yards for a touchdown to narrow the gap for the Chargers.

Diaz finished with 203 yards rushing on 15 carries with additional touchdown runs of 12 and 70 yards. Jeremy Douglas added a 20-yard touchdown run for Manteca.

Dominik Urteaga, Andre Bonvillain, Gabriel Bettencourt and Jacob Brown played well on defense for the Chargers.
