Varsity Jags blank Jr. Buffaloes 18-0 in Pride Bowl

The Manteca Jaguars varsity blanked the Manteca Jr. Buffaloes 18-0 Saturday in the Pride Bowl on Saturday at Guss Schmiedt Field to wrap up the regular Cen-Cal season.

Miguel Sequira (2 of 3 passing, 25 yards) scored when he took a pass from Angel Garay and raced 50 yards for a touchdown. Garay (150 yards rushing) ended the second quarter with a 95-yard interception returned for a touchdown for a 12-0 Jaguars lead. Richard Vargas added a 17-yard touchdown run for the Jaguars.

Jose Ceja led the Jaguars defense with eight tackles and a fumble recovery to end the game.

Dezmin Ware had 78 yards rushing for the Jr. Buffaloes. Noe Saldivar led the Jr. Buffalo defense with nine tackles. Tyler Brintley (blocked field goal) and Chris Ortiz added seven tackles each and Clayton Hatle four.

 

Junior varsity

Jr. Buffaloes 24, Jaguars 14

Kyle Jackson had a standout game for the Jr. Buffaloes.

Jackson had 134 yards rushing with a 73-yard touchdown run, an onside kick recovery, a blocked kick, fumble recovery, forced fumble and quarterback sack. Jacob DeJesus had 151 yards on the ground with a rushing touchdown and a 61-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and Tyler Garlets had a rushing touchdown.

Kevin Thornburg led the Jr. Buffaloes with four tackles and Garett Genilla added three and a fumble recovery.

 

Peewee

Jaguars 7, Jr. Buffaloes 0

Dylan Zimmerman, Marcus Brennan and Alfredo Ramirez led the punishing Jaguars defense.

Zane Salgado had 54 pounding yards for the Jaguars. Marcus Brennan added 26 yards and Jesus Gomez 21 yards with a touchdown.

Colton Stonum had 10 tackles for the Jr. Buffaloes with Eduardo Lomeli adding nine, Daymari Cox  seven, Cole Ramsey five and Bryan Howe three. Daniel Rushing and Howe led the ground game for the Jr. Buffaloes.

 

Rookies 

Peyton Nieman had two touchdowns and Gage Pfeifer one for the Jr. Buffaloes.

Bryson McMichael and Anthony Nixon each had four tackles for the Jr. Buffaloes and Ethan Nascimento and Ezra Alvarado added three apiece.
