VALLEY SPRINGS — So far, so good for Ripon with the first of two Trans Valley League Tournaments just around the corner.
The Indians remain in first place after Josh Richter and Daniel Cardoza led them to a one-sided 223-299 victory over host Riverbank Tuesday.
Richter turned in an impressive four-over 39 on La Contenta Golf Club’s front nine, and Cardoza trailed the round’s medalist by just a stroke.
Ripon (4-0, 7-1 overall) also got solid efforts from Matty Gay (44), Mark Bigelow (46) and Nick Mendonsa (54).
“We were missing our No. 3 guy, so not bad,” Ripon coach Chris Musseman said. “All things considered, I’ll take most of those scores.”
The first TVL Tournament is Monday at Spanos Park in Ripon.
