Sharks sink Quakes, tie Merced

SUBMITTING RESULTS

The Bulletin encourages youth and recreation teams of all leagues from Manteca, Lathrop, Ripon and Weston Ranch to submit their results. You may drop off game information at the Bulletin office on 531 E. Yosemite, or e-mail Sports Editor Jonamar Jacinto at jjacinto@mantecabulletin.com. Please note which league and team you are representing, the age division of the game played, the date of which the game was played, final scores, standout performers with first and last names and any additional game highlights. Results must be submitted by Monday, 5 p.m., as the Bulletin’s youth roundup runs Tuesdays. Results with incomplete information will not be entered.

Chloe Benham collected three goals in two games as the under-10 girls Sharks of the Manteca Area Soccer League won one and tied another in Bill Meyer Winter League action Saturday.
Benham accounted for her team’s only score in the Sharks’ 1-1 draw with Merced. Ariana Cardenas aided her with the assist.
Benham struck twice more in the Sharks’ 3-1 victory over the Ceres Earthquakes. Paige Gines also scored a goal, Patricia Tajii dished out a pair of assists and Cardenas added one assist.
Allison Bitle and Aleah Jarin played well defensively. Kaleigh Doyle and Bailey Glover were outstanding at goal.
Basketball
Timberwolves 30,
Wizards 28
Victor Elijah finished with 16 points, four assists and two blocks to lead the T’Wolves to a thrilling double-overtime finish in Manteca Parks and Recreation bantam division action Sunday.
John Elijah added four points, three steals and two assists; and Tim Couch turned in eight points and four steals. One of Couch’s steals led to the T’Wolves’ sudden-death bucket in the second overtime.
