Marcelo Morales scored three touchdowns on his only three carries for the Manteca Jr. Timberwolves junior varsity in a 58-7 Delta Youth Football League win Saturday over the host Lathrop Jr. Spartans at Bennie Gatto Field. 

Morales gaines 132 yards on those three carries, scoring on runs of 26, 40 and 66 yards. Elijah Cota added touchdown runs of 9 and 11 yards and Luke Weaver (8 for 11 passing, 66 yards) connected with Alonzo Drew (two receptions, 41 yards) on a 19-yard touchdown pass. Jason Seabron added a 55-yard kickoff return for a score and Gianni Addiego returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown.

Cota and Jason Seabron made eight tackles each to lead the Manteca defense. Payton Graham added seven stops, Gannon Anderson (fumble recovery) five and Niko Nunez four.  Drew forced a fumble and Morales made an interception.


Junior Novice

Lathrop Jr. Spartans 42, Manteca Jr. T’wolves 13

After leading by just a point at halftime, the Jr. Spartans pulled away in the second half.

The Jr. Timberwolves’ Julian Moncada rushed for 182 yards and two touchdowns. 

Dominik Wilson led the Manteca defense with seven tackles. Damian Delgadillo added six stops and Roman Guzman five.
