Manteca resident Kyle Alexander continued his dominant run in the powerlifting circuit last Saturday in the 4th annual FitExpo held at the San Jose Convention Center.

The Iron Rebel Open Classic Powerlifting Championships was part of the massive two-day event, which included a strongman competition, jiu-jitsu, wrestling and National Pro Grid League matches.

Alexander shined in the invitation-only event, setting new state and world records while taking first place in the 18-19-year-old, 220-pound division. His 601-pound squat and 655-pound deadlift are the new standards. He benched 314 pounds to bring his winning total to 1,570.

Alexander will next compete in the Boss of Bosses 2 in Mountain View on Aug. 29. He won the meet’s inaugural event last year with a total of 1,432.
