Cowboys crush Redskins in DYSA playoff opener

The Manteca Cowboys varsity handled the Patterson Redskins 38-6 Saturday in opening-round DYSA action at Dino Cunial Field. 

Dennis Crum had touchdown runs of 25, 38 and 44 yards behind 138 yards rushing for the Cowboys. Henry Palacios (163 yards rushing) scored from 23 yards out and Donnie Barclift had a 2-yard touchdown run.

Dennis Crum, Everett Sangalang, Tony Burgos and Aiden Twiggs had four tackles apiece for Manteca.

The Cowboys scored in every quarter.

Christopher Gallego had 113 yards on nine carries with a touchdown for Manteca and Robbie Espinosa added a receiving touchdown.

Nate Cedolini (eight tackles) scored on both sides of the ball with a rushing touchdown and an interception returned for a score. Christopher Gallego had 10 tackles, Jacob Paris eight, Koa Rodrigues six and Julian Ramirez, Gabriel Lopez, Shane Lewis and Adrian Ochoa five apiece.

Manteca Jr. Timberwolves 53,

Tracy Cougars 6

The Jr. Timberwolves waxed the Cougars on Sunday at Dino Cunial Field to finish the regular season undefeated at 10-0.

Manteca’s Marcelo Morales had five carries for 130 yards with touchdown runs of 2, 5 and 92 yards and a touchdown reception of 96 yards.

Alijah Cota had four carries for 50 yards and scored from 1 yard, 10 and 30 yards out. Luke Weaver  (9 for 12, 186 yards passing) had a pair of touchdown passes and four carries for 47 yards.

Cota and Gustavo Delgadillo led the Manteca defense with six tackles each. Turon McQuarters (fumble recovery) added five stops, Gianni Addiego four and Jason Seabron (forced fumble) and Payton Graham three each. 

Junior Novice

Jr. Timberwolves 13, Cougars 0

Julian Moncada led the Jr. Timberwolves into the playoffs with 144 yards rushing on 11carries with a touchdown run of 60 yards.

Aydan Roura added 55 yards rushing on 10 carries while Preston Smith rushed for 52 yards and scored on an 11-yard run.

Damian Delgadillo led the Manteca defense with eight tackles.  Moncada was close behind with seven, Robert Gaston ha and Albert Menchaca added four apiece, Owen Gully and Roman Guzman three Erik Vaquera (forced fumble) two.

Ripon Knights 18, Patterson Ravens 7

Carson Sanders and Anden Ries led the powerful Knights running game in an opening-round playoff victory at Downey High School in Modesto on Saturday. 

Trailing 7-6, Ripon took the lead for good in the third quarter when Jace Beidleman hit Dawson Downs with a touchdown pass. 

Reis scored two touchdowns behind the offensive line of Brady Rossi, Owen Wilbur, Jacob Camper, Mario Garcia, Devon Richardson, Dawson Downs and Preston Zuidervaart . 

After giving up an early touchdown the Knights defense led by Owen Wilber, Rey Galindo (interception), Hunter Steele, Carson Sanders, Andrew Mensonides and Preston Zuidervaart shut out the Ravens the rest of the way.
