Lathrop led 11-5 going into the fifth inning when Salida picked up four runs to come within 11-9. The Giants exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the fifth and then got out of the sixth with the Dodgers going down in order thanks to a double play.

Lathrop got six hits in the fifth with two of the first three being triples – Caleb Van Wetter led off the frame with a triple and came in to score on Justin Tisdell’s single and Tisdell scampered home on a three-bagger by Jyrus Faustorilla. In a five-run Lathrop third, leadoff batter Chris Pittman (2 for 3, double, three runs) started the inning with a double followed by a Hernalijo Bolanos walk and a two-RBI triple by Dunn. Tover then doubled in Dunn before coming around to score on a throwing error and Tisdell later scored on a triple by Eli Silva.
