Hayden Beier was the lone three-event winner in individual races for the Manteca Dolphins, who placed second in a Mid-Valley League tri-meet at the Ervin Zador Aquatics Center in Ripon last Saturday, May 30.
The host Ripon Sea Lions won with 1,538 points. Manteca outpointed the Tracy Tritons, 778-621.
Beier accounted for 27 of the Dolphins points with victories in the 100-yard individual medley, 50 breaststroke and 50 freestyle in the boys 9-10 division. He was also part the winning 200 medley relay.
Donovan Armstrong also turned in a strong effort in the boys 11-12 division, racking up 25 points with firsts in the 50 butterfly and 50 backstroke and a runner-up finish in the 50 free.
Dakota Rodriguez (girls 9-10) and Peter Espinoza (boys 6-under) added 22 and 21 points, respectively. McKeane Beier (boys 7-8), Ajani Jones (boys 11-12) and Luke Watson (boys 13-14) each finished with 20.
Ripon had 10 swimmers register 27 points: Nate Slikker (boys 6-under), Kailee Inderbitzin (girls 7-8), Sam Branco (boys 7-8), Reese Hansen (girls 9-10), Rylee Beidleman (girls 11-12), Lucas Esenwein (boys 11-12), Jacob Thompson (boys 13-14), Andria Martin (girls 15-16), Karisa Carlson (girls 17-18) and Bret Crew (boys 17-18).
The Dolphins will next host the Tritons and defending MVSL champion Turlock Sea Dogs today at Lathrop High. Ripon heads to Ceres.
