Jeremiah Green’s conversion run proved to be the difference Saturday for the Lathrop Jr. Spartans junior varsity in a 13-12 win over the North Stockton Bengals in Delta Youth Football action at Lathrop High School’s Bennie Gatto Field. 

Green had a touchdown on a 67-yard kickoff return and Ahmad Jacquett scored on a 38-yard reverse. 

Justin Tisdell led the Jr. Spartans defense with eight tackles. Julian Perez added seven tackles and Carmine Meza five. 

 

Jr. Novice

Manteca Jr. T’wolves 39, Ceres Cowboys 6

Julian Moncada ran wild for the visiting Jr. Timberwolves with 317 rushing yards on 10 carries with four touchdowns at Ceres High. 

Moncada scored on runs of 48, 60, 65, and 66 yards. Preston Smith added 64 yards rushing on nine carries with a 5-yard touchdown run and Aydan Roura scored on a 4-yard run.

The Manteca defense was led by Roman Guzman with eight tackles. Erik Vaquera (two forced fumbles) added seven stops, Albert Menchaca and Moncada five apiece and David Floriano four.

 

DYSA

Varsity

Manteca Cowboys 37, Tracy Buccaneers 0

Dennis Crum paced the Cowboys attack Saturday on the road with a pair of touchdowns.

Crum had nine carries for 142 yards with touchdown runs of 4 and 13 yards. Marcus Brennen (seven carries, 82 yards) had a 13-yard touchdown run, Henry Palacios (six carries, 56 yards) scored from 16 yards out and Carlos Alvarez (six carries, 51 yards) had a 4-yard touchdown run

Angelo Lopez, Aiden Twiggs (fumble recovery), Mateo Guevara and Everett Sangalang had four tackles apiece for Manteca. Alvarez had an interception and Adrain Heard made the lone sack.

 

Rookies

Cowboys 37, Buccaneers 0

Joey Lopez and Ace Avelar were in on three touchdowns apiece for the Cowboys. 

Lopez had a 40-yard touchdown pass to Avelar and scoring runs of 3 and 11 yards. Avelar added touchdown scampers of 45 and 60 yards and recovered a punt that he blocked. Gabe Flores added 63 yards rushing with one touchdown. 

Blake Mount was outstanding on defense for Manteca with nine tackles, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Isaac Alvarez (forced fumble) added five tackles and Dominic Jones (two fumble recoveries) and Ivan Alvarez (fumble recovery) had three stops each.

Cowboys 27, Buccaneers 0

Christopher Gallego and Robbie Espinosa combined for three touchdowns and nearly 150 rushing yards for the Cowboys.

Gallego had 130 yards on 12 carries with a pair of touchdowns and Espinosa scored one touchdown, gaining 116 yards on nine carries. Anthony Morales hit Nate Cedolini with a 4-yard touchdown pass.

Gallego led the Manteca defense with 15 tackles. Cedolini and Jacob Paris had seven tackles apiece with Julian Ramirez, Jayden Jones, Koa Rodrigues, Anthony Oteri, Gabriel Lopez, Robbie Espinosa and Jeremiah Santos all making five stops each.

Varsity

Manteca Jaguars 44,

Merced Bears 8

Joel Yuson led a balanced Jaguars attack on Saturday at Merced High School

Yuson had six carries for 89 yards with a 43-yard touchdown scamper. Jacob Martinez (six carries, 33 yards) added a 4-yard touchdown run, Isaiah Rollins (six carries, 32 yards) and Victor Martinez (five carries, 36 yards) each scored on an 8-yard run. Adrian Ochoa had a 3-yard touchdown run, Leonardo Quintero pulled in a 6-yard touchdown pass and Daniel Covarubius gained 29 yards on four carries.

Christian Threadgill paced the Manteca attack with seven tackles. Yuson added five tackles and Covarubius (two interceptions) had four stops.

 

Junior varsity

Jaguars 16, Bears 0

Kai Ontai and Trey Moreland ran ragged over the Bears.

Ontai had 10 carries for 210 yards and Moreland gained 105 yards on six carries.

Issac Allgier (eight tackles) , Keanu Duenas (eight sackles) and Jacob Hernandez (six tackles) combined for a safety for the Jaguars. Luis Mercado Jr., Ontai, Alex Gatty and Junior Alvarado added six tackles apiece.

 

Peewees

Buhach Thunder 22,

Manteca Jr. Buffaloes 16

Brock Belt and Nickolas Garcia each had a touchdown for the host Jr. Buffaloes at Guss Schmiedt Field.

Quinn Martinez gained 49 yards on two carries for Manteca with Gage Pfeifer and Micah Cardoza alson contributing to the ground game. Noah Navarro added two receptions for 35 yards.

Anthony Nixon had nine tackles for the Jr. Buffaloes and Hayden Keller four. Pfeifer and Martinez played well on defense. 

 

Rookies

Jr. Buffaloes vs.  Thunder

Carson Sablan scored two touchdowns for the Jr. Buffaloes.

Sablan had four carries for 153 yards with Nikko Juarez with Dylan Stonum and Nikko Juarez also contributing on offense. 

Stonum led the Manteca defense with five tackles. Juarez, Sablan, Carson Herickson, Thomas Stanbrough and Josh Husband rounded out the Jr. Buffaloes defensive attack.
