For a third straight year, the Manteca FC Dash under-11 girls soccer team reached the final round of the Davis Legacy Super Clasico Summer Edition tournament, and it reunited with familiar foes en route to capturing the Premier Division title.

Coach Dinesh Singh led Dash to an upset victory over the San Juan SC Spirits in the finals on Sunday. They toppled Northern California’s top-ranked team in the age group, 4-2.The Spirits were also victimized by Dash in the 2014 finale, where they fell, 4-3. San Juan controlled the match early on before the Dash attack erupted for the victory.

It was a strong finish after a shaky start. Dash opened group play with a disappointing 3-1 loss to Davis Legacy Red. They rebounded nicely, riding a dominant start in a 5-2 throttling of USA Stars. USA Stars defeated the Manteca FC squad 1-0 in a 2013 final.

Dash then earned their berth to the finals by squeaking out 2-1 triumph over Santa Rosa United Storm. Santa Rose had the upper hand early, staking a one-goal lead. Manteca FC answered with two straight goals for a 2-1 win.

Manteca FC and USA Stars ended group play with six goals each and mirroring 2-1 records. Dash got the nod for the finals with their head-to-head win over USA Stars.
