The Manteca Tigers will be looking for some revenge this morning.
As a result of manhandling the Mountain House Rangers 14-0 Friday night in the consolation final of the District 67 Minors Tournament of Champions at Brock Elliott School, the Tigers will get a crack at 10 a.m. today against the team that dispatched them to the consolation bracket, the Northgate Cardinals. Manteca must win this morning to force a winner-take-all game at noon Sunday, or Northgate will claim the flag.
Due to the 10-run mercy rule the game only went four innings, but Brandon Salisbury pitched a shutout for those four innings with six strikeouts and went 3 for 4 with a double. Ryan Nelson (3 for 4, home run) had an inside-the-park home run Alex Murrieta went 4 for 4 with a double.
