Mets 5, Cardinals 4

Cardinals second baseman Jack Cunial came up with a triple play to help keep the game close.

With the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth and the Mets leading 5-4, Mets leadoff batter Jacob Peterson lined a bullet to Cunial who snagged the ball, doubled up the runner on second and threw to first to catch that runner off the bag for the triple play.

Ashton Heath pitched into the fourth for the Mets before giving way to Luke Weaver. Heath struck out two and allowed two hits.

Weaver struck out five and allowed three hits.  Dylan Stokes led the Mets attack, going 2 for 2 with a double. Weaver was 2 for 3 with a double and Jayden Lopez was 2 for 2. Peterson doubled and scored two runs.

Ryan Vanarsdell and Dylan Lee split the pitching.
