RIPON — Nick Gagnon is going out with a bang.

One of four Ripon players honored on senior night Thursday, he amassed 10 goals — five coming in the first quarter  — and led the Indians’ boys team to a 22-13 victory over Bret Harte at Ervin Zador Aquatic Center. Ripon’s girls also dominated in a 13-3 win.

Even more impressive for Gagnon, a third-year starter, is that he converted on all 10 of his shots attempts. Fellow senior Diego Moreno contributed two goals and a team-high three steals.

Noah Esenwein chipped in with four goals and four assists. Ty Wells also scored four times, while Lucas Esenwein and Mika West had a goal each.

Senior goalie Kyra Foley finished with six saves and shut out Bret Harte in the second half during the girls game.

Ripon led 4-3 at the break before scoring nine unanswered. Chloe Winter powered the second-half surge, scoring four of her game-high six goals. Senior Andria Martin contributed with four goals, Amy Bacay had two and Amber Scheid one.

Ripon’s boys improved to 4-1 in the Valley Oak League while the girls are 3-2. The Indians end the regular season next Tuesday at Kimball.
