Former Ripon High volleyball star Samantha McCreath is making an immediate impact in her first year at NCAA Division I Central Connecticut State.
On Monday, the Northeast Conference named her as the Molten Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week after leading the Blue Devils (4-2) to wins in all three of their matches in the Crosstown Tournament this past weekend.
McCreath posted double-doubles against Lafayette and Lehigh in the first two matches of the tournament, including 16 kills and 20 digs in the five-set win over Lehigh. For the tournament, she produced 37 kills, 38 digs, nine blocks and an ace.
McCreath graduated from Ripon last spring and spearheaded the Indians’ run to the Trans-Valley League and Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV titles in the 2016 season. Joining her at Central Connecticut is fellow Ripon grad and close friend Ashlyn Eisenga.
