RIPON — The Ripon Knights had no answer for Dwight Jackson and the Ripon Chiefs in their Trans Valley Youth Football League opener on Ripon High’s Stouffer Field Saturday.

Jackson was in on three touchdowns, and the varsity Chiefs rolled to a 34-0 victory.

Tanner Goudeau set up Ripon’s first score with a fumble recovery, setting up Jackson’s 10-yard touchdown strike to Devin Nunez.

The Chiefs worked on a short field on their next possession thanks to Nunez’s 50-yard punt return, which led to Jackson’s short TD run.

Jackson was just heating up. He later connected with Nick Price for a 40-yard pass that allowed Nick Sharp to barrel in for a short-yardage touchdown.

Jackson then intercepted a pass on the Knights’ next drive and ran it back 35 yards to paydirt. Luke Robinson capped the final score with a short run.
Ripon will next host the Patterson Ravens this Saturday, while Modesto Patriots head to Ripon Christian to face the Knights.
