The reviews are out on the newest Kia Forte.
U.S. News and World Report called it one of the top affordable small cars.
This Kia was ranked No. 4 out of the 30 vehicles tested in the category, with the study based on the analysis of 28 published reviews and test drives. Included were reliability and safety.
Welcome Forte’s five-door hatchback. The all-new model to the family – the Kia Forte sedan and Koup models are also back and unchanged from that of the previous year – ranked No. 3 among other hatchbacks.
The 2011 Forte hatchback is currently available at Manteca Kia Country located at 1515 N. Main St.
The hatchback is equipped with the same 4-cylinder engine as the sedan and Koup (2.0L 16 valve DOHC) but adopted a six-speed automatic or manual transmission.
Kia also designed the hatchback with a new front grille, adding 16-inch alloy wheel; a center console with armrest and storage bin; paddle shifters; redesigned front bumper; and an optional navigation system.
When it comes to space, the Forte hatchback offers 26 cubic feet of cargo once the back seats are folded down.
Safety features include dual, front seat-mounted and full-length side curtain air bags.
Front and rear disc brakes are standard.
The sound system has AM/FM/MP3 along with six speakers and the option for Sirius satellite (three month service comes complimentary).
The car has added features such as Bluetooth technology and USB auxiliary input jacks, outdoor temperature, tinted solar glass windows, and power locks and windows with keyless remote.
As for fuel economy, the Kia Forte hatchback gets an estimated 26 mpg in the city and 36 mpg highway.
The hatchback featured at Kia Country was priced at $17,895.
In addition, the vehicle has a 10-year, 100,000-mile warranty and a limited power train (five years or 60,000 miles) warranty.
