Are you just looking for a house or are you in the market for a home?

You’ll understand the difference the second you step into Jennifer Harnden’s listing at 1713 Bingham Lane although you’ll be pretty impressed when you just pull up to the curb.

The Coldwell Banker Real Estate agent represents the owners of a two-story, four bedroom, and three full bathroom Beck-built home with 2,612 square feet of living space plus a two car garage. The home, which is owner occupied and not a short sale or a foreclosure, is competitively priced at $229,500.

The well-kept front yard includes a cluster of birch trees. Bricks help accent the front elevation.

You step into the home through double entry doors that take you into a striking living area.

It is one of a few Beck models of its type built in Manteca. Beck expanded the plan when they built homes afterward near Brock Elliott School but in getting bigger they lost a bit of their appeal.

The family enclosed the second floor bonus room not with a wall but with a series of top-of-the-line sliding windows that add to the ambiance as well as creates a feeling of openness while remaining cozy at the same time. The living area below includes a sunken conversation pit complete with wet bar as well as a fireplace.

There is a vaulted ceiling over the living room area while the dining room has a traditional ceiling that creates a comfortable setting for meals.
The living area – just like the rest of the home – has extensive custom paint that adds to the warmness plus accents other features such as upgraded door moldings.

A French door leads to the family room where you’re find another fireplace and wainscoting. There are double French doors leading to the kitchen plus a large slider opening to the back yard and patio.

The slider effectively makes you feel as if the backyard is part of the family room.
The kitchen has newer appliances but its most enduring feature is the breakfast nook that has a perfectly located window to take in quiet Doxey Park just across the street.

The bonus room on the second floor also has a similar well-placed window to give you a sweeping view of the park.

Perhaps what makes this floor plan that was built in limited numbers more effective in today’s world than the version that followed is the fact two of the bedrooms – including the master suite – are on the first floor. The version that replaced it put the majority of the bedrooms on the second floor including the master suite. The Bingham Lane home provides what many people want to day – the master suite – on the ground floor.

The master bedroom suite also has the same upgraded windows that allow you to look out into a well landscaped back yard that adds a level of serenity.

Along with the two bedrooms, bathroom, and bonus room on the second floor there is an enclosed attic space.

The home has a newer roof.

It is in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of George McParland School and four blocks from East Union High. Shopping at Raley’s Union Square is also within four blocks and you’re about a mile to the golf course and tennis center.
