Montage solar expo & grand opening
Manteca neighborhood offers solar power homes
SOLAR
Some of the most energy efficient homes in the Central Valley are now being built in Manteca.

Standard Pacific’s Montage and Montage II neighborhoods in the popular Woodward Park area south of the Highway 120 Bypass in Manteca have built-in energy savings that significantly reduces the monthly cost of owning and operating a home.

Buyers who purchase this year could be eligible for excess of $13,000 in tax credits including $8,000 from the federal government if they haven’t owned a home in the past three year plus a tax credit for the solar power system that typically is worth up to $5,000 or more per home.  That is in addition to reducing energy bills by up to 60 percent a month. It isn’t unusual for homes of 2,500 square feet or more in the Northern San Joaquin Valley PG&E territory to have monthly electric bills of $200 plus a month during the summer.

Standard Pacific Homes, in conjunction with the California Energy Commission’s New Solar Homes Partnership, is hosting a grand opening and solar expo at Montage and Montage II on Saturday, July 25, from noon to 3 p.m.  Those attending can tour model homes featuring the newest technology in solar, see solar demonstrations by SunPower, enjoy treats, and the chance to enter to win a green home makeover

Standard Pacific Home’ new Sunergy solar homes feature onsite solar electricity and additional energy efficient features. The comprehensive environmentally friendly Sunergy program uses clean renewable energy to help homeowners save money on utility bills, protect from rising energy costs, and improve home comfort.

“At Standard Pacific Homes we believe in doing the right thing and we are excited to take the next responsible step for the environment with our Sunergy solar homes,” said Jackie Shipley, vice president of sales and marketing for Standard Pacific Homes. “In addition to solar energy, we are maximizing homeowners’ savings with the most energy efficient features in the industry, adding to our already impressive design and architecture.”

Standard Pacific’s Sunergy homes are part of the California Energy Commission’s New Solar Homes Partnership (NSHP), a component of the Governor’s California Solar Initiative. The NSHP provides financial incentives and marketing support to home builders, encouraging the construction of new, energy efficient solar homes that save homeowners up to 60 percent on their utility bills and help protect the environment.

“Standard Pacific has made a significant commitment to building new energy efficient solar homes in California, joining more than 33 builders already enrolled in the New Solar Homes Partnership,” said California Energy Commission Chairman Karen Douglas. “California remains the nation’s leader in solar energy, encouraging consumer demand and construction of new energy efficient solar communities that contribute to a healthier environment.”

Montage features four unique and architecturally diverse floor plans, the quality craftsmanship that Standard Pacific Homes is known for, and the added value of solar included. Priced from the low $300,000’s, Montage offers a wide range of living space ranging from 1,995 to 3,153 square feet
Priced from the low $200,000’s, Montage II is a new home community featuring all single story homes. Montage II offers three flexible floor plans ranging in size from 1,384 to 1,751 square feet. Homeowners will be able to maximize savings by adding solar to their new home.
