Since 1980, El Jardin has been a favorite destination for patio dining and great Mexican cuisine in Turlock. Although diners can opt to eat inside, it is what is on the outside that attracts customers to El Jardin time and time again.

“A lot of people like to eat outside, especially those who work in offices all day,” said owner Mary Delgado. “Who would ever want to go inside of a building again once they get off work?”

The restaurant’s outdoor seating gives guests an opportunity to unwind in a tranquil setting after a long day. Surrounded by a mixture of music and greenery, customers are able to melt into a relaxing atmosphere as they enjoy signature El Jardin dishes and drinks. The popularity amongst customers regarding the outdoor patio has actually prompted management to add more tables.

El Jardin offers restaurant guests a wide array of authentic Mexican food and specialty cocktails that will keep them coming back for more. Diners can choose from El Jardin favorites, such as tostadas or the signature mole dish, or indulge in one of the restaurant’s many specialties. Delgado encourages customers to discover how fresh El Jardin’s cooking truly is by comparing their fajita dish with other restaurants in the area.

“We are very old school in our cooking,” Delgado stated. “You can tell that our food is really fresh.”

El Jardin does not restrict its guests with their specialty drinks either—the restaurant makes their own sangria and encourages diners to try wine, rather than the traditional margarita, with their food. With a menu that is very light and affordable, Delgado says that customers will definitely get more than their money’s worth.

El Jardin is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and  located at 409 E. Olive Ave. in Turlock. From Highway 99 going south, take the W. Main St. exit towards central Turlock, turn left onto W. Main Street, left on Lander Avenue, and continue onto E. Olive Avenue. El Jardin will be on the left.
