Want to reduce your chances of becoming a victim of identity theft?

The City of Manteca is conducting its annual free Shred-It Event and Compost Give Away on Saturday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Thieves have been known to search Toters and dumpsters for personal information in order to steal identities.

It takes place at Solid Waste Corporation Yard, located at 210 E. Wetmore Ave. Free compost will also be given away on a first-come, first-served basis to Manteca residents only. Bring your own buckets and shovels for the compost.
