WHERE: Gallo Center for the Arts, 1000 I Street, Modesto

MODESTO — Folk/pop musician Brett Dennen (http://brettdennen.net/) with brother Nathan Dennen (http://www.nathandennen.com/) are donating their time and talent to perform a benefit concert Feb. 26 to keep a favorite childhood location running -Camp Jack Hazard.

Brett will come to the event fresh off his fall tour for his new album “Loverboy” and Nathan will join him after recently releasing his own self-titled album. These two Oakdale natives will be performing together for the first time in a rare Modesto concert for Brett.

The Jack and Buena Foundation is the main sponsor of the event and 100 percent of the money earned will go toward building up the camp and sponsoring children who otherwise would not be able to go. To round out the event, the foundation is seeking vendors willing to donate beer and wine for this camp benefit.

Every year, Camp Jack Hazard offers many kids their first wilderness experience, and many of the camp’s former attendees are banding together to keep the camp accessible and open, said Jason Poisson, president of the foundation and a former camper.

“Highly successful people came out of that camp,” including doctors, lawyers and business owners, Poisson said. “They’ve learned while living at the camp all summer how to make things happen and to make it happen with very little.”

Tickets to the event will be $35 at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto. There will also be limited tickets available for a VIP pre-show reception with the Dennens and other Camp Jack Hazard alumni for $75.
