Two men in their early 20s stole three cell phones along with a purse at gunpoint Monday shortly after 11 p.m. in Lathrop.

Four females reported they were in the area of Avon and First Street when they were approached by the two men who demanded their phones. One phone was later found in the area and returned to its owner.

One of the suspects was described as an African American and possibly Hispanic mix, approximately 5-foot-10 and weighing possibly 170 pounds with a heavy set build. He was wearing a black sweater and True Religion brand jeans that had a horseshoe on the right front pant pocket and on the right rear pocket. The suspect was also reportedly wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.  Deputies said the suspect had concealed a dark colored handgun inside the pocket of the front of the sweatshirt.

The second male suspect was also described as a mixed race, possibly and African male adult or Hispanic male adult about 20 years old.  He was approximately the same height and weight with a similar skinny build.  He too was wearing a black colored hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans, deputies said.

The suspects were last seen running northbound on Avon Street towards Lathrop Road.
