A Manteca citizens’ police academy is open to 30 applicants on Thursday evenings beginning Sept. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Police Chief Jodie Estarziau said the academy will take place at the Manteca Police Department at 1001 West Center Street for seven consecutive weeks. There is no charge.
“Learn about law enforcement in our community and participate in exciting activities and discussions,” Estarziau said. “The Citizens Police Academy brings community members together having experience firsthand on how the Manteca Police Department responds and investigates crimes in our community.”
Applications will be accepted until Thursday, Sept. 7. Additional information is available from Sgt. Joshua Sweeten at 209-456-8285 or Lt. Paul Carmona at 209-456-8130. Applications may be obtained at the front lobby of the Manteca Police Department at the Manteca Civic Center, 1001 W. Center St.
