MODESTO – It has been 50 years since the first class of nursing students completed their two year Associate Degree Nursing Program (ADN) at Modesto Junior College.

During the past 50 years, MJC has graduated over 4,128 nurses from the ADN program.

In recognition of this accomplishment, Modesto Junior College will hold a Celebration of 50 Years of Nursing Excellence with a reception and open house on Thursday, June 4, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Glacier Hall on West Campus, 2201 Blue Gum Avenue in Modesto.  The event is free and open to the public, with free parking available in parking lot 215.

The open house includes tours of Glacier Hall, MJC’s state-of-the-art Allied Health building, which includes a high-tech human patient simulation laboratory. The reception will feature hors d’oeuvres and refreshments, and a presentation of nursing student scholarships.

The celebration is being sponsored by the Modesto Junior College Foundation and the Nursing Alumni Association.  “Fund a Nurse” opportunities will be available.
