Free surplus food distribution set at various locations Thursday

Low-income residents of San Joaquin County will be able to obtain free government surplus food, Thursday, Oct. 15 at locations throughout San Joaquin County. Distribution will continue until supplies are exhausted.

The food products will be given to those who self-certify that they are residents of San Joaquin County and whose household income are within the program guidelines. Total monthly income cannot exceed $1,354 for one person; $1,821 for two; $2, 289 for three; $2,756 for four; $3,224 for five and $3,691 for a household of 6 persons. They need to bring proof of their address and zip code and a paper bag.

County locations:

• Lathrop, Lathrop Senior Center, 15557 E 5th St, 8 to 11 a.m.

• Manteca, Manteca Library, 320 W. Center St., 7 to 9 a.m.

• Escalon, CARE Center, 8 to 10 a.m.

• Ripon, Ripon Community Center, 312 W 4th St, 7 to 9 a.m.
