Treats for the troops is the mission of Give Every Child a Chance’s  familiar white high-tech classroom bus this week as it travels to three elementary schools to pick up snack items from community members to be sent overseas.

“This just a small way to show appreciation for our U.S. service men and women,” said Jamie Anderson of the GECAC tutoring organization

Today the bus will be accepting items at Parkview Elementary School in Ripon from 3 until 6 p.m.  It will be at Golden West School on Tuesday at the same time in the afternoon and finally at the former GECAC building at 602 East Yosemite Avenue on both Wednesday and Thursday.

The needed items include coffee singles, Tootsie Roll candies, trail mix, fruit snacks, word searches, crosswords and any other fun goodies that can be shipped overseas.
