Various businesses, school groups and individuals are working with Second Harvest Food Bank in the hopes of filling enough donation barrels around town with food stuffs to meet the Christmas dinner needs in Manteca, Lathrop, and Ripon.

Following the Thanksgiving/Christmas turkey drive there is still a need for food to go with the main course as well as a need for additional turkeys to cover late requests for help that came in after the initial drive was completed by Turkeys R Us.

Second Harvest will provide the donations to nearly three dozen food closets serving the three communities..

For more info call the food bank at 239-2091. Second Harvest will accept frozen turkeys or hams from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the 704 E. Industrial Park Drive location in Manteca.
