A bit of fresh air for the 2026 State of the City
AROUND MANTECA

The 2026 State of the City is taking place in the afternoon and outdoors in downtown Manteca.

The date is Wednesday, April 29.

An outdoor venue, the time of day, and being staged in the heart of the city is a departure for the joint Manteca Chamber of Commerce-City of Manteca event.

In recent years it has been a breakfast affair held initially at the Manteca Transit Center and then the Great Wolf resort.

City Manager Toni Lundgren made a “save the date” announcement at Tuesday’s council meeting.

It came on heels of the city investing $2.1 million into downtown during the past 30 days.

It includes $1.2 million to buy the IOOF Hall and adjoining asphalted lot and awarding a $945,000 contract for the creation of a downtown specific plan.

The ONE Center

breaking ground

Crossroads Grace Church, 1505 Moffat Blvd. is staging a groundbreaking celebration on Sunday, March 1, at 1 p.m. to mark the beginning of construction on The ONE Center, a new counseling center serving Manteca and the greater San Joaquin County.

The event will mark the official start of construction and will include a barbecue lunch, a brief presentation, and a community gathering to celebrate the milestone.

The ONE Center was established to provide professional counseling services at a low cost while also offering scholarship funding for individuals and families who may not otherwise be able to afford care.

The ONE Center will be staffed by Christian therapists, while our services are open to serving all mental health needs within the community, offering care that may be faith-based or entirely non-religious, based on each client's preference.
