Golf tourney Friday benefits foster kids

Agape Villages is calling on all golfers.

The Fairways Fore Foster Kids Golf Tournament on Friday, Oct. 26, is a big fundraiser benefitting needy children in loving homes.

“This is a double treat for all,” Agape Villages Director Hank Lawson. “You get to golf and you get to help children.”

The Fairways Fore Foster Kids Golf Tournament will take place at the Manteca Park Golf Course, 305 N. Union Road.

Cost is $375 for foursome and $100 for individual for the four-team format / scramble competition.  Included is the use of the driving range, golf cart, raffle, live auction followed by dinner at Chez Shari overlooking the golf course.

Registration will begin at 11 a.m. followed by the shotgun start at 12:30 p.m., playing best ball and team sponsorship competitions.

Barbecued hotdogs and soft drinks will also be provided at check in. The awards dinner is scheduled at about 6 o’clock.

The 14th annual event will help this non-profit foster family agency in providing loving homes for abused and neglected children.

Agape Villages services 14 counties, with locations in San Ramon, Sacramento and Manteca.

There are over 60,000 children in foster care in the state of California.

Lawson handles church and community relations for Agape Villages at 572 Commerce Ct. in Manteca.
