Bethany Homes has been moving forward with the proposed Terraces at Bethany Home project.

Bethany Home is planning a major expansion.

This premiere living communities of the Central Valley is proposing a three-story, 82-unit residential care facility on a 2.73-acre property at Main Street and Vera Avenue in Ripon.

“We’re still working with Bethany Homes on their big project – (they’re) trying to finish up some environmental documents,” City of Ripon Planning Director Ken Zuidervaart recently said.

This month might be stretch in terms of getting that part completed in time for the June 21 Ripon Planning Commission.

“(Bethany Homes) would love to be in front of the Commission as soon as they can – I’m not sure if they can make it by then,” said Zuidervaart, who added that the July meeting may be more of a possibility.

City Council, back in April, gave BaseCamp Environmental, Inc. the green light to the California Environmental Quality Act – or CEQA compliance documents – for the Terraces at Bethany Home project.

Funding for that was made possible by the Bethany Home’s Development reimbursement account, Zuidervaart said in his April report.

The application the major expansion plan was received by the City on Sept. 9.

Council approved a reimbursement agreement between the City and Bethany Home for the processing of the application that following month.

Work, in addition, calls for demolition of the existing structures on the site.

The Terraces at Bethany plans will feature amenities such as a formal dining room, café & bistro, library, fitness center, media room, craft room and a large meeting and event hall.
