For more than a month Deandre Phillips committed no less than nine armed robberies across two separate counties, according to local authorities.

And on Monday the crime spree – which the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said “terrorized” communities during the one-month span – came to an end in Lathrop after Lathrop Police Services positively identified the 27-year-old and took him into custody.

A search warrant of his Lathrop residence turned up the .357 Magnum revolver that he is believed to have used in armed stick-ups in Stockton, Manteca, Lathrop, French Camp, Tracy, and Turlock.

According to police Phillips entered local convenience stores and businesses carrying a black duffel bag over his shoulder. He would then pull out the revolver he was carrying, point it at the clerk behind the register, and demand cash while filling the bag with alcohol and cigars.

Phillips allegedly robbed two different stores in Lathrop on different nights and the surveillance footage from those incidents help Lathrop Police work with other agencies that experienced similar crimes.

“The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office and Lathrop Police Services would like to thank the other agencies involved in this investigation for their diligent work,” the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement announcing the arrest.

Phillips is currently being held in the San Joaquin County Jail on a host of charges including six counts of armed robbery and carrying a loaded firearm in public under special circumstances – all of which are felonies. His bail has been set at $1.55 million and he is scheduled to appear in Department M1 of the Manteca branch of the San Joaquin County Superior Court today at 1:30 p.m. to answer to the charges against him.

While Phillips’ extensive spree included at least nine specific locations spread across two counties, authorities are currently asking the public for additional information because they believe there may be more victims in the area.
