Coe’s Holiday Specialties is back.
The Manteca Christmas tree lot (formerly Beck’s) at 1156 N. Union Road – the longest running seasonal business of its kind, celebrating its 26th year at this location – opened last weekend.
New to the inventory consisting of Oregon-grown trees, ranging in size from table top to 14 footers, is the Fraser fir.
“It’s popular back East,” said Daniel Coe, who operates Coe’s Holiday Specialties with his wife, Breanna.
Fraser fir is grown primarily in the mountains of Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina.
Price-wise, Daniel Coe said Fraser fir is comparable to that of his High Mountain Noble fir, Douglas fir, and Nordmann fir.
He’s gearing up for the expected post-Thanksgiving rush. “That’s usually our busy weekend,” Coe said on Wednesday.
He took over the Christmas tree operation about four years ago from his grandparents, Rick and Julie Beck, who are still involved putting together the decorative handmade Christmas wreaths – other items on stock are The Pie Shop Company’s frozen pies, kettle corn, and cedar garland.
Coe’s Holiday Specialties kicked off the season with some 2,000 trees on the lot.
As for early sales? “We’re right on point,” said Daniel Coe.
Hours of operation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., daily, through the days leading up to Christmas.
