PINECREST — Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort was catapulted into their 71st season, which kicked-off on Dec. 16, with some of the best conditions possible.
The resort has already picked up over 14 feet of snowfall during the month of December bringing the Central Sierra resort to over 200 inches for the season.
The stage has definitely been set for one of the best holidays on the mountain in recent memory as Dodge Ridge now looks forward to mostly sunny, bluebird skies for Thursday through Sunday to close out the New Year’s Weekend.
While so many resorts and highways have been closed over the past week, Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort has remarkably been able to keep operations running, giving their skiers and riders something to truly celebrate this holiday period. Though Dodge Ridge’s elevation is comparable to other Sierra resorts, the Central Sierra resort has always benefitted from the easiest winter drive possible along Highway 108, with no mountain passes to go over, less traffic and a majority of the drive below the snowline.
For the final celebration of the holidays, Dodge Ridge is now set to host their annual New Year’s Eve festivities on Dec. 31 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. This free event, which will include fireworks at 7 p.m., a torchlight parade during the 6 o’clock hour, and live music throughout the event.
